Putting the ‘Brett’ in Brettrospective

Brett's experience with media creation spans nearly two decades. From an early age, he had a passion for good experiences and a strong interest in design and type; today hecontinues to find joy in capturing memories or a message on the Web, on social, on video, via email, or on paper for anyone with a passion for their family or their business.

After years of being asked for help by friends, family, and the occasional guy sitting next to him on an airplane, Brett decided to start doing media creation and development part-time. He was inspired by two friends who quit their day jobs to start their own businesses, and figured he had enough potential clients to keep him busy at least part-time.

Brett’s experience with media creation spans over three decades. From an early age, he had a passion for good user experiences and a strong interest in design and type. He found early on that his interest and passion translated into good business when he found himself doing design work for small businesses and several public schools, including his own high school, in the late 1980s.

Brett continued to expand his desktop publishing and design work in the early 1990s. His college years found him developing and creating printed materials and t-shirts for his chapter of the America’s Leadership Development Fraternity and other small projects.

The mid-1990s saw the commercial birth of the World Wide Web and Brett’s first foray into electronic media. After working for a U.S. Congressman, a U.S. Congresswoman and two U.S. Senators, Brett’s web experience led him to the U.S. Senate Sergeant at Arms where he served as a design lead and project manager for the Senate web site. He created the 2001, 2005, 2009 and 2013 Joint Congressional Committee on Inaugural Ceremonies web sites, projects that challenged his creativity and ultimately rank among his finest design work.

Brett is proud to be one of the founding members of the Gay, Lesbian, and Allies Senate Staff (GLASS) Caucus where he not only helped establish and promote the organization’s mission, but he also developed its initial brand, web site, and email newsletter standards.

Brett holds a Bachelors degree in Communication with an emphasis in public relations and continues to find joy in capturing memories or a message on the Web, on social media, on video, via email, or on paper for anyone with a passion for their family or their business.
