Back in March 2020 and March 2019 I wrote about updating the Brettro website theme. Since those posts I have focused on expanding my skills both within web design and development and outside web design and development. And through that I have used this blog to write about what I learned. (And, truth be told, I have taken breaks here and there as Uncle Sam, Inc. has pulled my focus entirely.)
A few months ago I started to refocus on my writing and realized that the interim WordPress theme I was using didn’t quite capture the feeling I wanted for Brettro. While I still intend to create my own custom WordPress theme, I wanted something that better matched Brettro’s design language.
I decided to use the theme I bought a few years ago: Aquene by Themes Harbor. Its large imagery, breathable user interface, beautiful text spacing and easy customization makes it a very Brettro-like product.
In the meantime, I have lots of interesting things in the pipeline, including:
- More on the Brettro design system,
- More on InDesign’s export-to-HTML capabilities,
- A look at InDesign’s e-book capabilities,
- Process improvements to my writing workflow,
- Learning to be a better manager,
- And more.
Stay tuned!
