With an already demanding full-time job, I was burning the candle at both ends trying to meet the needs of my clients and the demands of my job and in early 2013 I burnt out.
During DC’s January snowstorm I built LEGO’s newest set, the Corner Garage.
This weekend I headed down to Fredericksburg to assemble the brand-new LEGO Hogwarts Castle, LEGO’s second biggest set ever.

I recently treated myself to a new LEGO set: the Detective’s Office.
In that ponderous moment on the patio at Pepperdine, the voice in my head said to me, “Brett, the world is so much bigger than what you know. Go be a part of it. It’s time to make a bold change. It’s time to move.”
Because I was already using ExpressionEngine on a daily basis, I felt that I needed to use WordPress on a website that I would also work with daily so that I would become equally as familiar with it. And so I chose WordPress to be the CMS for brettro.com.
